First, MTT this morning started off decent. Once again I’m at my usual average stack and I get KK in early position. I raise, guy with more chips re raises all in and I call. He turns over AK so I’m in very good shape, 65% favorite to be exact because he is suited. FLOP COMES OUT Qh Js 10h fucking unreal, flops broadway on me not to mention the royal flush draw. So now I have about a 1 in 10 shot to tie with an Ace or about a 1% chance to runner runner something on the board or including a King to win. I’m already throwing shit cause once again Pokerstars will not let me get a good chip stack even though I put my money in good everytime. Pokerstars must have known I was mad because just to rub it in they throw a fucking Jack of FUCKING HEARTS out there on the turn to give him the Royal Flush. Fuck off.

And….just to rub it in even more. In one of my double up tourneys which I have been doing really well in, I get to limp in on the button with just the blinds with 44. They both smooth call and flop comes out A J 4. Boom, lets hope one of them has an Ace. To my surprise, Small blind bets out and BB raises so I push all in because there was a flush draw on the board. CALL…..CALL….WHATTTT? They fuckin turnover AA and JJ. I almost had a brain aneurysm. These guys both smooth called the blinds with AA in the SB and JJ in the BB. So now I have the worst hand with a set of 4′s off the flop out of 3 people. Unreal. To make it worse for the guy with Aces, JJ spiked quads on the turn. This game is literally unreal.

PS: You will never win a coin toss in a double up if you have less chips then the other player, it’s absolutely true.

PPS: I do not believe there is a conspiracy in online poker, it just looks that way.

Beginning Stage:

In every tournament you play there will be little fishies swimming around. The type of people who really just want to play and play basically any hand. They think that they can beat any player with any hand. This is where you play very tight or at least I do for that matter. I only play AA, KK, QQ AK suited and possibly JJ in late position. If you get one of these hands more than likely you’re going to get paid well with all the fish still in the tournament. If you don’t, well then 10 out of 10 times you are still moving on to the Middle Stage of the tournament. Everyone has seen the bad beat where a fish takes out a good player with 4 2 up against AA but at this point in the tourney that is the only chance I take.

Middle Stage:

We’ve expelled about 25 to 35% of the entrants and are left with either the better players or some of the lucky fish still hanging around. If you hit one of those big hands in the Beginning Stage and was lucky enough to double up then you’re ahead of the game. If not, no big deal, it’s time to loosen up a little bit. You may have caught the reputation of being a tight player which is now a very good thing. You can start playing those pocket pairs and maybe throw in an AQ and AJ. (Although you know I very much hate AJ). What we’re doing now is trying to build our chips, it’s a necessity. Play smart but definitely loosen up into your game.

End Stage:

If we’re lucky enough to make it here this will start right around the bubble where people very much tighten up. They have the mindsight of I made it this far I want to make the money. This is the best spot to grab some more chips. Be even more aggressive then the middle stage and take some blinds with your suited connectors and high cards. Don’t be afraid to make some moves, it is needed if you are going to make final table type money. Be aggressive and take as many chips as you can is my motto because I am not necessarily looking to make my money back and a little more by just limping into the money. I want to win and if you do as well you need to be aggressive here and continue to be aggressive.

I hope this helps anyone having trouble with Multi Table tourneys. Now if I could only get pokerstars to let me win when I’m ahead for all my chips.

You give me a few decent hands for the first 2 hours and I make a decent amount of chips. BUTTT Only enough to have an average stack and glide relatively easily past the money. I get into the money but since there are so many fucking people in these low buy in tourneys, making the money is like winning your buy in back unless you beat out another 300 people to get into some real money. BUTTTT remember you gave me only enough hands to make an average stack. Then I wait around as avg stack grows and now my stack sucks, I finally get a good hand, get someone to call and am at least a 70% favorite only to get outdrawn.

number 2

I get zero good hands and have to steal blinds all the way to a couple hundred from the cut line just to stay in the fucking tourney and then finally with a good hand I get outdrawn again to just about bubble and make no money at all.

When the fuck are you going to let me win a hand that I am a dominate favorite in so I can have a good size stack and make some decent money or, god forbid, have a chance at winning the fucking thing.

Right now I say Fuck you pokerstars, fuck you for making me play for so long only to fuck me so I can’tget any further.

ps…I don’t really believe it’s pokerstars fault, just the run of cards. I just have no one else to be mad at because I feel like I played that good.

I am however taking the over on the Magic/Celtics game. Got it at 189, got a benjamin on that.

Next I’m taking the Knicks -3.5 over the Raptors. I look for a great game from the Knicks at home.

Lastly going to blindly follow someone on a hot streak and take the St. Louis Blues/Edmonton Oilers over 5.5.

She has placed 7th in the World Poker Tour and then 8th in the 5k short handed NL event at the 2006 WSOP. Honestly who cares though she’s smoking hot. Even sports illustrated thinks so.

Update: Problem I have found is that sometimes I can go 40+ hands without getting a hand then I really only have 5 BB’s left which creates a problem.

PS: Fuckin AJ continues to lose me chips, I’m thinking about folding it no matter what for now on.

Uconn -5 at Providence.

I really like the way George Blaney has the Huskies playing right now. It actually begs the question, is it time for a new coaching era in Storrs? Anyway some people think this is going to be a let down game for the Huskies after their big win over Texas this past weekend. Well, I don’t agree. Uconn has bad blood stemming from past losses to Providence that players like Jerome Dyson and Stanley Robinson definitely remember. I look for both those players to go off tonight and the Huskies get the transition game going putting up at least 80 points against the Fryers. Uconn wins easy 85-68. Take it to the bank. Also take a look at that over, Prov can put up some points to go along with their awful defense.

Portland Trailblazers +2.5 vs Utah Jazz

I usually hate betting on the NBA cause it sucks but I really like this game. A good team in the Blazers getting points at home vs a notoriuosly bad road team. Both these teams are good teams and I believe it will be a close one, but I will definitely take the points with the home team.

Villanova vs Notre Dame over 166.5

I know this seems high but both these teams are bad when it comes to scoring defense. Both of them give up over 70 points a game. Both of these teams also score like madmen. I really believe this game will hit the 90′s for at least 1 team. I’m going with a final score of 91-80 Villanova wins.
